Andrea Favalessa gained the Degree and the Upper Level Degree in Cello, both by the teaching of M° Marco Bernardin at the Conservatory of Milan. He attended masterclasses held by artists as E. Dindo and M. Brunello. He collaborates with La Scala Philarmonic Orchestra, I Solisti di Pavia, Rai Symphonic Orchestra. As principal cello, he worked with the Carlo Felice Orchestra in Genoa and with La Scala Academy in La Scala Theatre.

He regularly performs with the pianist Maria Semeraro. They won several international competitions such as the first prize at Duchi d’Acquaviva, the second prize at C. Soliva, the second prize at Città di Pinerolo. He has given recitals in several Italian cities as Venice (Malibran Theatre), Milan (Teatro dal Verme), Bergamo (Sala Piatti), Bologna (Philarmonic Academy), Trento (Philarmonic Hall), Cervo (International Chamber Music Festival). He played as a soloist with I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, the Conservatory of Milan Philharmonic Orchestra, and Orchestra da Camera di Brescia.

From 2007, he has been working as assitant in the cello class of M° C. Marini at the Conservatory of Brescia. He is a member of SIMC (Italian Society of Contemporary Music); for this society he has played and recorded, for Mc Harmony label, solo premieres by E. Morricone, S. Bo, M. Di Gesu, P. Arata. On him was conferred the bronze medal to the Meritorious of Culture and Art by the President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in March 2002.
