highSCORE Festival 2021 will be held online via Zoom between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Eastern Time Zone, UTC-5) / 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Pacific Time Zone, UTC-8).

Complete the application form and submit the required materials by the following deadlines. Submissions are due before 11:59pm EST of each deadline:

  • March 22, 2021 – Application deadline;
  • March 31, 2021 – Notification of acceptance;
  • April 16, 2021 – Payment in full of tuition/accommodation;
  • June 11, 2021 – Work final submission: score and parts.

Fill in the application form and send the following to artdir@highscorefestival.com before March 22:

  • a resume (CV);
  • a complete score representing your style (optional: a live recording);
  • list in order of preference the following instrumentations/opportunities. Upon acceptance, we will select one of them, for which you will compose a new work:
    • cello quartet (Quartetto Zuena); music to be featured in a video published on YouTube. The files of the A/V professional recordings will be also shared with all the composers and can be used by them as they wish;
    • flute (piccolo, soprano or bass) and guitar (classical or electric) duo with or without electronics and/or amplification (unassisted fold); music to be recorded in an album to be published by Da Vinci Classics and to be released in early 2022;
    • percussion solo (Simone Beneventi); music to be featured in a video published on YouTube. The files of the A/V professional recordings will be also shared with all the composers and can be used by them as they wish.
    • ukulele solo (Giovanni Albini); music to be recorded in an album to be published by Da Vinci Classics and to be released in early 2022.

If you wish to send attachments larger than 5MB, please consider file-sharing services (WeTransfer, GoogleDrive, …). SoundCloud, YouTube, and Vimeo links are accepted as well. Please do not send MIDI mockups.
